The Ministry of Intercessory Prayer

An intercessor is a man, woman or child who fights on behalf of others. As such, intercession is the activity that identified us most with Christ. To be an intercessor is to be like Jesus because that is what Jesus is like. He ever lives to intercede. From the viewpoint of Ministry, we are all to pray and intercede like Jesus, our example. From the viewpoint of giftedness, a vast number of people are called specifically to be intercessors. The difference is that one level of intercession is the responsibility of every Christian, and the other is a gift that God bestows to you, as a part of the biblical ministry of helps. Remember Jesus whole life was intercessory. To become like Christ, we must intercede!!!!!!

EZKIEL 22:30

"So I sought for a man among them who would make a wall and stand in the gap before Me on behalf of the land, that I should not destroy it; but I found no one."

ISAIAH 62:6-7

"I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem, who shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent and give Him no rest tile He establishes and till he makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth."

To be an effective intercessors we must be like watchmen on the wall. God is establishing His people as watchmen to give Him no rest until the Kingdom of God is established throughout the world.

Things You Can Do To Develop a Watchman’s Eye

Sign up for the Army!! Tell the Lord that you are willing to be a watchman.
Keep your heart pure so that you can properly discern areas for which God wants you to pray.
Develop a God-Consciousness in your life. Be aware at every moment that you are on call. Being a watchman is very much like being a doctor who carries a beeper, at any given moment he or she may be called up for an emergency. No matter what you are doing, God may call you to change your plans, to pray and sound the alarms to stop the enemy’s attack.
Pray that God will teach you the proper time and place to sound the alarm. God reveals to intercessors the intimate needs of those whom we are to intercede. This is a precious trust.

Sinner’s Prayer

Lord Jesus, I confess that I have sinned against You, and I ask that You forgive me for all my sins. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, who shed His blood on the cross for the remission of my sins. I give my Life to You and ask that you come into my heart, that I may live with you eternally. In Jesus’ name, Amen

Prayer for Protection

Lord Jesus, I ask You to protect my family (mention each member by name) from sickness, from all harm and from accidents. If any of us have been subjected to any curses, hexes or spells, I declare these curses, hexes or spells be null and void in the name of Jesus Christ. If any evil spirits have been sent against us, I ask that you decommission them in the name of Jesus Christ and I send you evil spirit to Jesus to deal with as He will. Then Lord, I ask You to send Your holy angels to guard and protect all of us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray for Deliverance

In the name of Jesus Christ I command you, spirit of (call the spirit by its name) depart without doing harm to (name of person), or anyone else in this house, or in his/her family, and without making any noise of disturbance; and I command you to go straight to Jesus Christ to dispose of as He will. Furthermore, I command you to never again return.
